Busy holiday weekend for Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

It was a busy 4th of July holiday weekend for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. They made a total of 51 traffic stops over the weekend and made five drunken driving arrests.
Deputies also issued 11 traffic citations, 10 misdemeanor arrests, 2 misdemeanor warrant arrests, 2 minor in possession charges and several careless driving citations.
They also issued 32 written warning citations.
The money for the extra enforcement on the road totaled over $6,000 and came from a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
