The defending Big 12 champion Husker wrestling squad will host their annual wrestle-offs tonight at 6 p.m., at the Devaney Center. The event is apart of the Nebraska’s Fall Coaches Clinic, and is free to the public. The event also helps coaches with setting their starting lineups for the season. Fans will be able to pick up free posters and schedule cards at the wrestle-offs.
The Huskers are coming off a 17-3-1 record in 2008, including a co-Big 12 title and their second straight fourth place finish at the NCAA Championships. Back this year are 157 lb. national champion Jordan Burroughs and 197 lb. NCAA runner-up Craig Brester. The Huskers also welcome back 2008 All-American Stephen Dwyer at 174 pounds and 2009 NCAA qualifier Tucker Lane at Heavywight.
The Husker first regular season dual is on Sunday, Nov. 15, when NU hosts the Wisconsin Badgers at the NU Coliseum at 1 p.m.
