Kenny Lawson Jr. scored 20 points and Antoine Young had nine points and nine assists as Creighton overcame an early 10 point deficit to win 93-77 over Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday. UNO led most of the first half thanks to Nebraska-Kearney transfer Jeff Martin. Martin hit his first five three-point attempts as UNO built a 33-23 lead in the opening 13 minutes of the first half. From that point on though, the Bluejays took over with a 13-0 run that saw CU take a 52-44 halftime lead.
In the second half, The Mavs would went on a 7-0 run to close the game to 77-69 with eight minutes to play, but another CU run of 9-0 put the game out reach.
Lawson was 8 of 11 from the floor with seven rebounds. Wayne Runnels and P’Allen Stinnet scored 12 points each. Martin led the Mavs with 22 points on 7 of 9 shooting. Andrew Bridger had 16 points, five assists and four rebounds.
