The Governor is signing into law the package of bills sent to him by the legislature to cover a 334 million dollar shortfall. The Governor had three main concerns, but did not issue any vetoes.

“Number one, again if you look at the overall package, it’s a good package, it keeps us moving forward, and it does so immediately, secondly each of those issues i raised can be addressed in January and I thought it was more appropriate to move forward, raise the issues, hope they’ll re-think them and reconsider them in January”

The Governor was concerned about two million dollars in cuts in job training assistance funds, a decreased reduction to the Nebraska Court System, and he was not favorable to one million dollars being restored to the legislature so their own budget can be restored.
