The Husker football team got in six practices over the last week in Lincoln and now the players get a little bit of a break. They are set to return on December 24th, but head coach Bo Pelini says there are about 85-90 kids sticking around so those players will do some conditioning on their own.

Plus, Bo and Carl picked up a commitment from their old Alma Mater, Cardinal Mooney in Youngstown, Ohio. Braylon Heard is the Huskers 17th commitment for this upcoming class. Heard is a 5’10 180 pound running back rated by Rivals.com as the 96th best player in the country and among the top backs in the nation. It was reported that Heard was heavily considering West Virgnia, but he also had offers from Cincinnati, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland, Indiana, Vanderbilt and N.C. State. Heard can run about a 4.45 40. Pelini shares his philosophy on asking for commitments on today’s Big Red Report.
