A tough day for Lincoln State Senator Kathy Campbell and the many mothers who are in the state illegally as the legislator pulls her bill that would have provided prenatal care for the undocumented.
“And while i recognize the conundrum that this issue brings, I would hope that the anger and frustration we hear would be directed towards the Federal Government for their years, years of inattention to the immigration policy.”
Campbell says she talked with other Senators and realized their just wasn’t enough support for her bill to override a Gubernatorial veto. Opponents to providing state aid for the mothers say non profit groups will step forward to help provide the care.
