For more than 80 years Sally Gordon has been on the job. She’s been working as the first female assistant Sergeant of Arms for the past 26 years at the Nebraska State Capitol. A national organization held a ceremony in a standing room only State Capitol Rotunda to recognize that the 101 year old is still going strong.
“It is appropriate to tell you that i’m 101 years old, the same age as the legislature. Ya know I used to be a model, but right now I feel like a Model-T!! But, ya know, I hope there’s a lot of mileage left.”
To Give you some perspective, Sally Gordon has been working since Calvin Coolidge was President.
