Officers involved in fiery crash on leave

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner has identified the two deputies who pursued a 17 year old driver who died in a fiery crash. Seasoned deputy Ronald Boden and Sgt. Thomas Brookhouser will remain on paid administrative leave as the investigation into the pursuit continues.

“This is a pretty tramatic event for employees as well. In addition to our internal investigation we’ll make sure that we have some critical incident stress debriefing and chat with them and make sure they are handling the situation appropriately before they come back to work.”

Each have at least 19 years experience with the department. Sheriff Wagner says the state patrol is handling the investigation. The pursuit started after a caller reported that Damon Wilson had threatened family members with a machete. A family member says that the mother had pleaded with deputies not to chase Wilson because he was an inexperienced driver.
