Well, here we are on Wednesday and nobody from the media, the fans, even the players know at this point who the starting quarterback will be, with the exception of Bo Pelini.
Yesterday at the Huskers media day, Pelini finally explained why he’s been reluctant to name a starter publicly, or at least disclose who has the inside track at this point. He wants to keep distractions to a minimum and used the word “circus” to describe the setting if he announced the starter.
Pelini also said he’s not really concerned how the offense will be effected by not knowing who the starting quarterback will be and he puts a big emphasis on midweek competition
That will only make that position better whoever is named the starting quarterback. Do you have any guess who you think it will be? I’m thinking Zac Lee. Just by the way Pelini said he wants to do right not only for the kid starting, but for the kids who aren’t walking out there for the first time.
Now you can take that as meaning the first time for the season…or the first time as the starting quarterback, which Zac Lee has already done…12 times. Maybe I’m looking too much into it, but I think Lee is the starter.
