Lincoln native, 17 year old tennis player Jack Sock lost in his US Open debut falling in four sets to 63rd ranked Marco Chuidinelli 1-6, 4-6, winning the third at 6-1, and then losing 1-6. Sock will stay in New York to play in the mixed doubles and then next week in the Juniors US Open.
The Nebraska men’s golf team defeated the Creighton men’s golf team by 19 strokes in a Wednesday dual at Omaha Country Club. Nebraska shot an even-par 284, with Creighton at 303. Creighton’s Kevin Stanek and Nebraska’s Scott Willman both shot one under 70′s.
