A UNL student from the southwest part of the state is arrested early this morning on a hate crime charge outside the Q Bar in downtown Lincoln. Officer Katie Flood says an officer happened to be in the area and saw what was happening.
“The victim and several witness reported that Luke Stevens did not know them, but he started calling them derogatory names based on their sexual orientation.”
The victim was punched in the face by the suspect. Officer Flood says that 21 year old Luke Stevens was arrested. Stevens attends UNL and originally is from Southwest Nebraska. Officer Flood did not have the name of the town available.
