The weekend snow storm did a bit of damage to the University of Nebraska – Omaha Soccer Dome. UNO spokesman Charley Reed says heavy, wet snow and strong winds likely caused a 10-foot tear on the side of the structure at 67th and Spring Streets in Omaha.
A temporary repair to the dome was made over the weekend and UNO maintenance crews were able to re-inflate it. Reed says a crew from Minnesota will arrive this week and deflate the dome. The necessary repairs will be made and then crews will re-inflate it.
UNO has used the inflatable dome since 2007 and this is the first time they have encountered a problem. The UNO Soccer Dome is used for both UNO Soccer and is rented throughout the year for various events.
