Hyatt is building their first hotel in Nebraska. Construction will start in the next two to three months on the 159 room, nine story Hyatt Place Hotel at 12th and Jackson Streets in the Old Market area of Omaha.
Scott Strain with the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce says Hyatt plans to hire 50 people to maintain the hotel. That will create additional economic activity and support up to 37 additional jobs.
It is slated to open in 2014. Hyatt’s Worldwide Reservations Center is located in Omaha.
