A natural gas spill in Elkhorn.
Hazmat is at the scene of a large gas leak in Elkhorn.
The call came in around 1:45 that there was a leak along Britney Circle and Veterans Drive in Elkhorn. Hazmat, fire fighters and other rescue personal are at the scene. Metropolitan Utilities District was at the scene as well.
A Metropolitan Utilities District employee was transported to Creighton University Hospital this afternoon following an incident in Elkhorn, where the gas distribution crew was working on a natural gas main.
The crew was doing maintenance work on a 60-pound main at Veterans Dr. and Skyline Dr.
Two other employees were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The District estimates 6 to 8 customers will be without service until repairs can be completed.
