Max Ramirez smashed two three-run home runs, including one to cap off the decisive five-run eighth inning rally that propelled Omaha past Albuquerque, 12-10, Monday afternoon in the last of a wild four-game set at Isotopes Park. The Storm Chasers fashioned two five-run frames en route to earning a series split and improving to 9-3. The visitors scored 37 runs in the series to increase their league-leading total to 95.
Omaha starter Vin Mazzaro lasted only four frames and was charged with eight runs on nine hits while walking one and fanning three. Jeremy Jeffress took over and settled things down with three shutout innings during which he allowed one hit, walked two and struck out one to earn his second win of the season.
The Storm Chasers open a four-game series Tuesday in Round Rock with right-hander Nate Adcock taking the hill against Express right-hander Neil Ramirez.
