One of three escaped prisoners caught in North Platte

North Platte police say that three Kansas Department Of Corrections inmates housed in the Ottawa County jail escaped Wednesday morning.

One of the fugitives, 21-year-old Drew Wade, was captured at the WalMart in North Platte as he apparently turned himself in to police.

The other two fugitives, 22-year-old Santos Carrera and 22-year-old Eric James, are still at large.

Police say there is reason to believe the two could possibly be in the North Platte area, but there is no confirmation on their location. They are believed to be on foot.

Carrera is serving time for two counts of first degree murder. Eric James is serving time for burglarly and kidnapping.

Both are considered armed and dangerous.
