Corey Patterson doubled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning as Nashville came back to beat Omaha, 5-4, Wednesday afternoon in the third of a four-game set at Greer Stadium. The Storm Chasers lost their season-high fourth consecutive game to dip to 17-10 overall and 2-5 on the current road trip, with four of the defeats by a single run and three of them by the same 5-4 score.
The Storm Chasers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Johnny Giavotella’s two-run home run and a David Lough run-scoring single that extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Omaha made it 4-0 when Giavotella singled home Jason Bourgeois with one out in the sixth.
Sean O’Sullivan gave up a two-out, two-run double to Patterson in the seventh that cut the lead to 4-2. Brooks Conrad belted a two-run homer, off Roman Colon in the eighth to tie the game at 4-4.
