The same day former Nebraska cornerback Alfonso Dennard signed an NFL contract with New England, he also filed a written waiver pleading not guilty to charges of assaulting a police officer.
This goes back to April 21st when Dennard allegedly punched an officer who was trying to break up a fight outside a bar in downtown Lincoln. Less than a week later is when New England drafted Dennard. He’s out of jail on bond. His trial date hasn’t been set yet.
