A 22-month-old girl is in critical condition this morning, after Lincoln Police say the mother backed her 2004 Ford Focus into the toddler.
Captain Jason Stille says the mother was taking another child to a baseball game around 6:30 last night. He says the mother assumed the child was in the car and backed out of the driveway.
The toddler was pinned underneath the car and dragged 20 feet.
Captain Stille says the mother rushed the child to Saint Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Bryan LGH. The toddler was then flown last night to a Omaha hospital.
The mother and child’s name have not been released. Captain Stille says the girl suffered severe head and internal injuries.
