It’s that time of the year when Nebraska drivers are sharing the roads with more motorcyclist.
Lincoln Police Sargent Jerry Train reminds drivers to stay alert, using both eyes and ears. He says many involved in motorcycle crashes reported not seeing the motorcycle.
“It’s often more difficult to judge a motorcycle’s speed”, Sargent Train says. “That attributes to many accidents”.
Sargent Train says car drivers need to recognize that motorcycles are faster and it’s often more difficult to judge a motorcycle’s speed, compared to a car.
He also recommends giving a 3 to 5 second distance between you and motorcyclist in front of you.
