Storm Chasers drop a game in extras

The Omaha Storm Chasers fell to the Memphis Redbirds, 6-4, in 11 innings at Werner Park on Thursday night. Louis Coleman (0-2) was hit with the loss after giving up the deciding two runs to Memphis in the 11th inning. The loss drops the Storm Chasers overall record to 45-29 and the team’s home record to a stellar 28-11.

Mark Hamilton walked to start the 11th inning for the Redbirds. Hamilton was then replaced by Eugenio Velez who advanced to second on a sac bunt and then to third on a wild pitch. Coleman then intentionally walked Cox who then moved to second on defensive indifference. Montanez then blooped a hit into center field to score Velez and Cox to score the game’s decisive two runs.
