Omaha native and current Midland University bowler Erin McCarthy sits in seventh place overall after the first round of match play at the Women’s Bowling U.S. Open in Reno, NV. McCarthy went 3-5 in head to head competition after finishing in seventh overall after 24 games of qualifying. McCarthy rolled a 279 high in her fifth game of the match play and finished with a scratch score of 7,202 for a 225 average of the tournament. Another eight games of round robin action begins today at 3 p.m. local time.
