Nebraska & Iowa cars again heading south on I-29 to buy fireworks

John Peterson says sales at Liberty Fireworks in Rockport, Missouri last year turned out to be a real dud. His usual busy stand was like a ghost town after Missouri River flooding closed I-29 and Highway 136 right before the 4th of July holiday. Many people in Nebraska and Iowa make the annual trip to Rockport to buy fireworks.

Peterson says the sizzle is back in fireworks sales in Rockport and business is back. He is very pleased to see cars with Nebraska and Iowa plates once again in his parking lot. Even though the summer of 2011 was a bad year Peterson says what he lost was minimal in comparison to others in the flood.
