Man sentenced to 30 days in jail after controversial video of his arrest

A video of an Omaha man being dog piled by police officers, kicked and punched went viral on YouTube when it was released last year. Wednesday, Robert Wagner was sentenced to 60-days in jail for the attempted assault on a police officer. A trial ended with a hung jury earlier this year and Wagner then pleaded no contest to that misdemeanor offense.

Security video captured that footage a parking lot at the Creighton University Medical Center in May of 2011. That resulted in the firings of two police officers but one of them was recently reinstated.

The other officer fired is still waiting for an arbitration hearing. Wagner will get credit for time served.
