Alcohol might have been a factor in a fatal accident this weekend near Clatonia.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office reports that 59-year-old Bruce Benash of Beatrice lost control of his pick-up about five miles south of Clatonia. The truck struck a bridge structure, rolled and came to rest in the middle of the road. Benash was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials suspect alcohol played a role in the accident, which remains under investigation.
