The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is again meeting with Omaha Public Power District officials and the public to give an update on their nuclear power plant. Victor Dricks with the NRC says they will get a report on OPPD’s progress as they continue to deal with performance issues at the Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant.
Dricks says the meetings are open to the public and there will be a “q and a” session. They have held several similar meetings in the past and more are planned.
The Ft. Calhoun Plant remains off-line and OPPD is hoping to have it up and running by September. Dricks says the N-R-C does not have a deadline.
The meeting is scheduled July 17th from 6pm to 9pm at the Doubletree Hotel at 16th and Dodge Streets, downtown.
