Sarpy County authorities continue their search for a 34 year old man who jumped into Hanson Lake #3 early Sunday morning and never resurfaced. Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Russ Zeeb says they had to end the search late yesterday afternoon because of dangerous heat and exhaustion of those searching. He says crews had been at the lake up to 14 hours and there was concern for the safety of all the officers.
Lt. Zeeb says they are using sonar to search the lake today. Lt. Zeeb says the man had been in a boat and then jumped into the lake. His name has not been released.
Because of several recent drowning Lt. Zeeb says everyone must remember safety when swimming and boating. There have been several water related deaths in Nebraska this weekend.
