State Education Commissioner to receive national award

Nebraska Education Commissioner Roger Breed will be named the National Educational Administrator of the Year at the National Association of Educational Office Professional’s annual conference in Costa Mesa, California this week.

Breed is only the second Commissioner of Education to receive the annual national award since 1973 when it was first established. Nancy Grasmick from Maryland was recognized in 1992.

NAEOP is an association of educational office employees who work for K-12 schools and school districts as well as community colleges, higher education and departments of education. Breed will receive his award Thursday.
