Three-pointers and takeaways highlight All-Star basketball games

The Nebraska Coaches Association basketball All-Star games were played Monday night at Lincoln North Star. The Boys Red team tied an All-Star game record with 17 three-pointers, including 13 in the first half as the squad pulled away with a 103-89 win over the Blue team.

The Red team attempted 46 three’s, finishing at 37%. The Red team was 13 of 25 (52%) at the break and owned a 62-43 halftime lead. Keithan Karn of Elkhorn South made 4-of-8 three-pointers, Trey Bardlsey of Beatrice was 3-for-4, and Dylan Travis of Omaha Gross went 3-for-7.

In the girls game, the Blue squad had 14 steals and never trailed in the second half of an 88-71 win. Lincoln Northeast’s Brianna Craig led the Blue squad with 16 points. Alicia Armstrong of Beatrice, who is actually a Nebraska softball recruit, finished with 15.
