Husband of state senator pleads no contest to prostitution charge

The husband of a state senator has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of soliciting a prostitute.

47-year-old Mark Stranglen of Bellevue, the husband of Sen. Abbie Cornett, made the plea in Douglas County District Court.

Stranglen was arrested late last year after making arrangements with an undercover FBI agent to meet her at an Omaha hotel. He paid a $75 fine and court costs.
