One state senator is disappointed with the decreased efficiency rate and bonuses based on the handling rate for food stamps.
Fullerton State Senator Annette Dubas says the transition to ACCESS Nebraska has been a difficult one.
For the first time in nearly a decade, Nebraska did not get a federal bonus because Nebraska had too many errors. The state’s efficiency rating on application for benefits have also decreased significantly since the change to call centers handling benefit applications.
Senator Dubas says she is hopeful the State Legislature and the Department of Health and Human Services can fix the problem. She said her bill that went into effect last week should help get ACCESS Nebraska back on track.
