Volunteers have been busy scraping paint and priming the outside of dozens of homes in the Omaha metro area getting ready for Saturday’s big event. Tom Pettigrew is the Executive Director of Brush Up Nebraska’s Paint-A-Thon and says this is the 24th annual paint day to help low income elderly and permanently disabled homeowners maintain their property.
Two thousand volunteers will be painting 74 homes on Saturday. Nearly 75 companies, businesses and individuals donated all the materials.
In the past 24 years Brush Up Nebraska volunteers have painted more than 2,400 homes for those in need of a little help.
