July unemployment figures released

Nebraska’s unemployment rate came in at 4-percent for the month of July. That is slightly higher than June’s 3.9%. Department of Labor statistics show that the July rate in 2011 was 4.5%.

In Omaha the unemployment rate increased two-tenth of a percent to 4.7%. In Lincoln July saw a 1/10th of a percent increase to 3.8%

Only one state has a lower unemployment rate than Nebraska and that is North Dakota.

Nebraska is still more than half of the national rate of 8.3%
