Eyes to the skies, Defenders of Freedom Air Show this weekend at Offutt

This weekend is the Defenders of Freedom Air Show at Offutt Air Force Base at Bellevue. Thousands will pack the base for the show that features the Red Steel Jet Team, the Golden Knight Parachute Team and a Super Hornet Demo who are just a few of the featured performers at this year’s event.

There is no cost to attend the air show which runs from 9am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Because parking can be crowded on the base all visitors are encouraged to take advantage of a free shuttle service. Visitors can park and ride at Southroads Technology Center, Bellevue University, Bellevue East and West High Schools and by entering the Bellevue Gate on base only.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along a bottle for water and they will have stations set up around the base where it can be filled at no cost. Cameras and portable chairs are welcome but leave coolers and backpacks at home or in the car. Pets are not allowed.
