Two Colorado residents sentenced in Nebraska murder

Two Colorado residents have been sentenced in the 2003 death of man whose body was found in the Panhandle.

The Attorney General’s office reports that 41-year-old Vencil Ash III of Ft. Collins, CO took Ryan Guitron across the state line to a farm in Kimball County, shot him in the head and buried his body in a woodpile. Law officers found the body at an abandoned farm near Bushnell, NE.

A Kimball County District Court jury found Ash guilty of first-degree murder last month.

Earlier, 24-year-old Kelly Meehan pleaded guilty to a count of being an accessory to a felony. She has been sentenced to 20-to-60 months in prison.

Meehan told investigators that Ash had killed Guitron. The two had been living with Guitron in Ft. Collins. Guitron had last been seen alive in October of 2003.
