Helping children who are victims of child sexual assault

Earlier this week a former coach with the Omaha Chiefs Youth Football organization was sentenced to 30 to 80 years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl over a five year period.

Gene Klein is the Executive Director of Project Harmony in Omaha, a group that works with sexually abused children. He says cases like this open the door for discussions with about sexual assault.

Klein says parents also have to be on guard as many times predators gain the confidence of the parents first and then turn their attention to the child.

Project Harmony staff work with about 25 children each week from the Omaha metro area who are victims of child sexual assault.
