UNK, Wayne State in national volleyball rankings

After a 3-0 weekend in Hawaii, the Nebraska-Kearney volleybal team has moved up two places to second in this week’s AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Top 25 poll. To start the 2012 season, the Lopers beat Central Region member Augustana, tournament host Hawaii-Hilo and the top Canadian college team, the U. of British Columbia, in Hilo.

Meanwhile Wayne State is ranked 12th after the Wildcats opened the season going 3-1 over the weekend at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic in Golden, Colorado. The ‘Cats posted 3-0 wins over Dallas Baptist, Colorado Mesa and St. Joseph’s (Indiana) while falling 3-1 to Tarleton State of Texas.
