School bus crash near Blue Hill in south-central Nebraska kills four

A school bus collided with a semi tractor-trailer in south-central Nebraska, killing four.

Few details are being released by Webster County authorities, except that both the driver of the school  bus and the truck driver died in the collision. Two passengers of the school bus died in the wreck. No descriptions or names are being released by the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.

It appears the fatal crash occurred around 5 o’clock this evening near Blue Hill. The Blue Hill School District bus collided with a truck loaded with bales of hay at the intersection of Webster County Roads 1800 and R.

Webster County authorities declined to disclose how many injuries there might be in addition to the fatalities, but reports from the area indicate that four children, between the ages of 6 and 10, suffered injuries. All were taken to Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. One has been flown to Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
