Creighton soccer back to 2nd in coaches poll

Coming off back-to-back 1-0 victories on the road, the Creighton men’s soccer team moved back to No. 2 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.  The No. 2 ranking equals the high earlier in 2012 and from the 2011 season when the Jays made a run into the College Cup, finishing the season 21-2-1 with a tie in the national semifinal match. The Bluejays were No. 2 in the poll on Aug.

The Jays remained the top-ranked team in the NSCAA Midwest Regional Rankings. The remaining four national polls have the Jays in varying spots throughout the Top-15. Creighton is ranked No. 12 by College Soccer News No. 6 by Soccer America, No. 4 by Soccer Times and No. 4 by TopDrawer Soccer.

This week the Jays host Drake, No. 14 Old Dominion and William & Mary for the Creighton Invitational. Creighton faces No. 14 Old Dominion on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m., then battles William & Mary on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2:30 p.m.
