A state senator has been hospitalized after apparently suffering a stroke.
Sen. John Wightman of Lexington, 73, is being treated at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. A member of his staff says the senator suffered a moderate stroke on Sunday afternoon.
Wightman, who is an attorney, chairs the Legislature’s Executive Board of the Legislative Council. He is a member of the Appropriations Committee. He is not up for election this year.
