Crushing news for the Huskers defense when Bo Pelini announced linebacker Zaire Anderson will miss the rest of the season because of an ACL injury. He actually hurt himself in practice last week before the Arkansas State game.

Anderson talked about his injury. There’s a good chance that he’ll get a medical redshirt for next season, but Anderson was looking forward to this year and this next game, where he was expecting to start.
The plan right now for defensive coordinator John Papuchis is to play Alonzo Whaley and David Santos. Papuchis said they would look at guys there were going to redshirt in case of an emergency, that could guys like Thomas Brown or Michael Rose, but at this point the Huskers aren’t ready to go down that road just yet.
