Alarmed motorists lead to arrest of driver six times over legal BAC

Alarmed motorists alerted the Nebraska State Patrol who arrested a 27-year-old from Maine troopers say had a Blood Alcohol Content six times over the legal limit.

The patrol says Troop D in North Platte received several calls from motorists reporting the erratic driving of a SUV traveling east on Interstate 80 late Thursday afternoon. Callers reported the SUV had been swerving from one side of the road to the other and was being driven at various speeds.

Troopers stopped the vehicle on I-80, three miles west of the Brady Interchange. The driver, Andrew Wiggin of Old Orchard Beach, Maine has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving Under Suspension.

The patrol says Wiggin registered a BAC of .453.
