Nebraskans dump more than 6,000 lbs. of unwanted drugs

Nebraskans got rid of more than 6,000 pounds of unused medication during the Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day program.

The Attorney General Office and the Nebraska State Patrol collected outdate or unused medication at five sites across Nebraska in coordination with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Attorney General Office reports that statewide, a total of nearly 21,000 pounds of prescription drugs have been collected at sites during the national events.
