Ground broken on new U-S STRATCOM headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base

State leaders and members of Offutt Air Force Base and U-S Strategic Command were on hand today when ground was broke for construction of the new U-S STRATCOM building at Offutt Air Force Base near Bellevue.

Governor Dave Heineman spoke at the event saying the new headquarters will strengthen STRATCOM’s ability to perform our national security and defense. He says this will be a state-of-the-art facility that is much needed by our military.

The 915-thousand square foot facility is replacing the existing 1950-era headquarters building at a cost of more than $524-million.
