UNK football gets first win of the season

Nebraska-Kearney scored 21 straight points after Southwest Baptist took a 20-13 lead to win their first game as members of the MIAA. The Lopers won the turnover battle 3-2 to pick up their first win through seven games.

For UNK, Ricky Trinidad carried the ball 35 times for 219 yards and one touchdown. Justin Drudik in his second start at quarterback scored twice on the ground. On defense Ryan Lendrum had 11 tackles and picked off two Bearcats passes. For the Bearcats MJ Swortwood had one touchdown on the ground while ViaVia Manuma has nine carries scoring twice. Swortwood also threw for 188 yards starting the game under center for SBU. On defense Jameson Manuma had ten tackles while Shaquille Shedd finished with nine stops.
