Deshaun Thomas, a consensus first team All-American, had 18 of his game-high 22 points in the first half, as the eighth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes topped Nebraska, 70-44, Wednesday evening. Ohio State (11-2, 1-0 Big Ten) used a 16-2 run late in the first half to build a 19-point halftime lead as the Huskers shot just 25% in the first half and 30% for the game.
Ray Gallegos was the only Husker to finish in double figures, finishing with 14 points, as the Huskers (9-5, 0-1 Big Ten). Dylan Talley was held to nine points, while David Rivers came off the bench for nine points in a losing effort.
The Huskers return home Sunday afternoon to take on Wisconsin in the Big Ten home opener.
