Former US Treasury Secretary Paulson seeks expanded Nebraska trade with China

Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is in Nebraska today and met with Governor Dave Heineman to talk about his non-profit and non-partisan organization, the Paulson Institute.

He says he contacted Governor Heineman about a year ago to talk about Nebraska’s opportunities with China. Secretary Paulson says agriculture is critically important to China. It would be a win-win situation to have Chinese investment options come to Nebraska in the form of packing houses and other forms of agriculture.

Secretary Paulson says, “The biggest complement that any country can pay is to make an investment.” Secretary Paulson is in Kearney where the Governor’s AG Conference is in progress.
