Six Huskers qualify for wrestling nationals

Six Husker wrestlers qualified for the 2013 NCAA Championships. 2012 All-American James Green will lead the Huskers as he will be making his second NCAA appearance at 157 pounds after a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday.

Robert Kokesh (174) also earned a No. 4 seed. Kokesh qualified for the 2012 NCAA Championships at 165 pounds and went 2-2. Senior Josh Ihnen will be making his fourth NCAA appearance after finishing eighth at 184 pounds last season. Sophomore Jake Sueflohn will be the No. 9 seed at 149 pounds after a 22-5 season. Sueflohn earned runner-up honors at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday. Ridge Kiley (141) and Caleb Kolb (197) earned at-large bids. Last year at the NCAA Championships, Nebraska tied for 21st with 28 points. Eight Huskers qualified for the tournament as Ihnen and Green earned All-America honors.

The 2013 NCAA Championships will take place March 21-23 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
