The man accused of two double murders in Omaha is back in Nebraska and being held in the Douglas County Jail. Anthony Garcia waived extradition in an Illinois courtroom Wednesday and was transported to Nebraska Thursday. He arrived back in Omaha around 5:30 pm Thursday.

Garcia was booked on four counts of felony first degree murder. Those deaths include Dr. Roger and Mary Brumack on May 12th in their Omaha home. Garcia is also accused of killing 11 year old Thomas Hunter and family housekeeper Shirlee Sherman in March of 2008.

Documents show Garcia was in Omaha on the day the Brumback’s were murdered. Those documents include credit card use, cell phone calls and surveillance videos of Garcia at a convenience store in Council Bluffs.

Records also show that Garcia purchased a handgun two months before the Brumback murders. A magazine that matches the model of gun purchased by Garcia was found inside the Brumback’s home.

Garcia is expected to have his first court appearance in Omaha on July 23rd.
