A deadly house fire in Omaha this morning. Omaha Battalion Fire Chief John McCormick says they received the fire call around 6:30 Wednesday morning. The person who reported the fire did not have an exact address so firefighters had to search for the blaze. When they found the home at 76th and Izard Streets they saw flames and heavy smoke.

Chief McCormick says when they did a search of the home they found the body of an elderly woman in room in the back of the house. Her name has not been released but officials say she was the lone resident. Investigators are looking into what caused this fire.
